Drilled shafts are used world-wide as cost-effective, high-performing deep foundation systems to safely support load bearing structures. Reinforced, cast-in-place concrete provides excellent axial capacity and ensures a combination of side shearing and end bearing resistance.

Cased & UNCASED Drilled Shafts
Our teams have deep experience drilling:
- Cased steel shafts: We offer both permanent and temporary steel casings for drilled shafts
- Uncased drilled shafts: These self-supporting shafts provide an effective option when the soil is stable
- Rock sockets: Specialized equipment and expertise enables embedding piers into solid supporting rock layers
- Vibratory hammer: When tough installs require ground driven steel casings
Low Clearance Drilling
Our low clearance drill rigs ensure our teams maintain safety with the ability to:
- Work beneath live overhead lines without de-energizing
- Drill alongside substations with limited access
Slurry Shafts
Our expertise with slurry displacement methods enables allow for effective concrete shaft pier placement that prevents sidewall caving.

Our Founder
Andy Evans, PE, founded DRISCO to partner with utilities, businesses, general contractors and government agencies to solve drilling and foundation challenges for transmission line towers and substations. Andy is a Licensed Professional Engineer with extensive civil structural engineering and construction management experience, including multi-million dollar transmission line and power generation projects. Before founding DRISCO, Andy led teams at Evergy, Black & Veatch and JE Dunn Construction, among others.
